ok....my system has become VERY unstable. It will randomly freeze and lock up, crash programs.
I had only the vid card and FSB overclocked. When I put them back at default, the problems went away for awhile. But now the problems are back
I am thinking maybe the motherboard is partially responsable.....but then I thought maybe the powersupply is too.
It is a 300 watt Antec that came with my case
So i checked out in bios to get the voltage settings, and below is what I got
============================
Vcore- 1.728v
VTT- 1.200/1.216v
VIO- 3.264/3.280v
+5.0v- 4.893v
+12.0v- 11.802v
-12.0v- 11.661v
-5.0v- 5.026v
Battery- 3.312v
+5v sb- 4.872v
======================
Now....i havnt the foggiest idea of what these mean. But I do know that they mean something big........
so is this good? bad?
is it time for a new powersupply?
or do you think all my lockups are still becuase of the mobo?
powersupply and voltage questions-is this bad?

Not sure if I'm right..
But that one -12v is outside of the 5% allowable tolerance. All the others look ok.. Guys, correct me if I'm wrong.. eGo
***edit*** shows how much I know.. lol.. Listen to blade, he knows better than I do..

They all look fine to me.
Do you use XP as your os? If so then I suggest running a repair install. I believe it is driver or registry related. At least I'd try that first. And uninstall and reinstall the video card drivers.

i am running win2k with service pack3
i just reformatted it about a week ago cause i had the lock ups and such.
the system seems to lock up a lot when playing videos.
I havnt downloaded any codecs for this, so its all the basic mediaplayer thats playing the avi's and such and the system locks
cant even alt-tab or control-alt-delete to restart my system. I have to hit the button

Why not try downloading the codecs needed. Many avi files will not play unless you have the right codec. Worth a shot and at least you can narrow it down. You probably need the divx codecs like 3.11 alpha, xvid/ac3 divx 4 and maybe 5.

but hte movies do play with codecs in windows
I will watch it, but after playing for about a few minutes, or if I move the slidder at times, it wil just lock
So i dont think its codecs cuase my system will also freeze if running through 3dmark, or in a game, or if its just sitting at the desktop not doing anything.
And its not the harddrive cause I swapped it with another one

Could be, but also could be various other things like your ram or video card too. Or caused by a virus. Is this the system that has the virus?
Still could be the power supply too. These things are not always easy to find the cause. Just have to narrow it down by replacing each.
