looking for a 20x dvd

here with in the past month or so

or was that at a differnet bb

I didn't know anyone made a 20x dvd drive? all i've ever seen was 16x...

yeah, I would have to agree. I can't recall anything faster than a 16x.

but I also heard that anything past a 4x or 6x is useless as the info cannot be sent any faster than this to the computer to be processed for viewing. Its just the newer ones(16x) have more features and extras with them. Besides I think the new ones come with Software and are no more than $50 anywho. might as well get a new one with a warranty!

There has been a push to incorporate the Zen technology (remember Kenwood drives) into the DVD market. These multi-lazer head drives can supposedly read in the 24X range, but again, it is the saturation factor that catches up with these drives.

Then there is the reliability factor too with all that technology. It never really worked reliably over time. I would stay away, far away, from any drives like that.
