Heres the specs:

Enlight 7237 mid-tower case with 300watt power supply
MSI K7T-Pro2a
Duron 800 guranteed to 1050.
128megs of Micron 8e pc100 (soon to be replaced by 128megs of handai pc133)
GeForce DDR (CL) Running 6.18s I beleive.
MUSE sound maxi sound card. (Running drivers off the cd)
30gb WD hard-drive. (7200rpm)
12x Toshiba DVD rom-Drive
floppy

Ok. this is whats been going on. First off when I put it at 1050 with either 1.825 or 1.850 I get all kinds of registry errors, blue screens. All that goodness. FIX: Find out the chip doesn't actually do 1050, and lower it to 1000. Then Windows installs fine and everything. Then start playing games and it locks up after a few hours. In various spots. Last night when running performance Defaults with AGP4x disabled it froze 2 times during a DVD movie. BUT I can play quake 3 for 2 or 3 hours at the same settings??? THen I put it to Fail-Safe Defaults and disabled AGP4x. Worked for the rest of the movie and about another hour of gaming. then got up this morning and used the same settings and worked fine for 2 hours of Sim theme park, but froze in 5 minutes of NFS porche Unleashed. Now I am confused. the only thing I haven't tried is switching the soundcard to a different pci slot, but I don't see why it would matter. Its in the 3rd one, and its the only pci card in the computer. Any ideas??

Thanx

Frost.

Take everything out of the system (including any software that came with the hardware) except for video card, ram, processor, and hard drive. Play with it for a while at defualt settings and see if it crashes. If it does you may want to try new drivers (I think they are up to 6.3-something now). If it still crashes than you have a problem with one of those 4 things. Personally, I would be pissed that the chip doesn't do 1050 as advertised, but that's just me.

If your system doesn't crash, than add one piece of hardware and test it out. Add one piece at a time until the system starts freezing. Then you have your culprit. Lots of long work, so good luck! :)

sounds like it might be heat, too. you're not running the fsb high enought o cause pci timing probs. make sure that your hs is on tight and that you are using good paster - my duron cranked as high as i could get it only went to about 44 C. 700@9.5 x 107, also, amkle sure you do your friver installs, etc., at normal clock speed - otherwise gremlions creep in - good luck - btw where did you get the chip? the msi board is supposed to be really stable

This will sound silly, but after all the heat and what not options are looked into, are ya sure it isnt NFS? I have NEVER been able to get one of those damn games to work on my systems!!! All three of em! I get lock ups seconds into the game! Is it maybe just the game?

Keep all multiplier and bus clock settings at their default and get everything working like that. Then O/C.

If you can't get everything working at their defaults, then somethings obviously very wrong ;)
