The new Antec TruPower series are super quiet and tough psu's I have a 480W one and its been rock stable and holds the voltages really stable no matter what i throw at it.

I am not sure about the noise part but the best Powers supplies are PC Power and Cooling supplies. They have the best regulated outputs.

Yep, as already state PC Power & Cooling are the way to go if you have the money. I have a couple of them myself. And they do make a 400 watt silencer power supply.

When I originally upgraded my PSU a few months ago, I went with a retail-boxed Antec True330 from Newegg. Enclosed, it was louder than any dying PSU I had ever heard...and louder than five machines running in my office combined. I knew this wasn't what I should have experienced, I knew I got a bummer unit.

Newegg (of course) was cool about an RMA. They still had more of them in stock, too...so I thought I would get a replacement right away. But after they received my RMA, they gave me a refund: turns out, they suddenly were OOS on all Trues.

My guess is that they got an entire shipment of bad Trues, and were getting RMA's up the yang hole. But once again, Newegg pulled thru: they gave me shipping charges back, and I ended up with an Enermax 350 for a little less than what I originally would have had to pay. The thing is pretty damn quiet, not much difference than my old Powerman at all (maybe a little quieter). Dual fans, and with only one intake fan (front) on my Inwin tower, my 1.6a is cool under fire at 2.24.

But if you have the extra cash, I hear PC P&C makes some really good schtuff...
