any drivers for MX300?

Post by CaterpillarAssassin »

Have a client that needs a driver for a Diamond MX300 sound card. He needs them to be DirectX 8.1 compatible. Anyone know if they exist?

Try here Vortex of Sound I'm using the Aureal reference drivers I got from here for the MX-300 sound card in my wife's PC. As for DirectX 8.1 compatibility, I have Windows XP installed on her computer and it sounds just fine. Soryy, but I've never loaded any games on her PC.

I'd tell your client to get with the times and upgrade his soundcard. while the mx300 sounds good Aureal has been dead for a long time now... And driver support is a thing of the past and will only get worse.

Yeah pred I want to but he just dropped 135 on a new vid card and 40 on a new power supply. I feel bad so I'm trying to find some working drivers. See the problem is he can run a game and the sound will be fine. But then when he closes that game, he loses all sound. Till a reboot. Any suggestions?
