bye bye scsi. :( I would loved to keep it and goten a 15k drive, but its jsut insane. the good ones only come in 36g and are insanly priced.

so system went from this:

36g 10k quantom, 40x Wide plextor, 16x burner, 6x slot dvd (all scsi ofcourse)

to this:

200g 8meg WD, 56x benq, 48x benq, and 16x benq dvd. :)

I think scsi is cool, but it's overrated, and overpriced. It beats IDE hands down tho.

it was a fun ride while I I was on it. 4-5 years. started back with a p200 or something on my first Iwill board, had onboard scsi. :)

Oh, I dont think scsi is over rated at all, it is so awsome. at least the latest and greatest. I was hoping to hold out till ide drives were 10k, but ohwell.

Man those WD drives are so overrated. Mine was only worthy of being put in my Xbox. Seagate X-15 all the way for the PC as far as I am concerned. :D

Like hell these WD drives are overrated... They blow a standard 2 meg cache drive out of the water... I went from a Raid 0 setup with Maxtro d740x's to the 120gig 8meg WD SE and benchmark wise this WD isn't much slower than my raid setup was... Now i can see if you go from scsi to this drive you'll think it slow which yeah it will be cause it isn't scsi... but for IDE its smokin!

yea, I would have goten one of the new scsi ones but I cant afford it. Normally I could have but I have taken over the entire familys bills...so I am beyond broke.

Anyways, this 200g drive has to be the best ide drive out there so I did the best I could.

hell, I'm "SCSI-ing" up! :) I just picked up a 68-pin Plextor CD-ROM off of fleaBay for my workstation-to-be (Tyan Thunder 2500 with LSI U2W)... but this Seagate 18.2 gigger will have to do for now...
