We all new it was coming... today Western Digital formally announced its 200 GB Caviar WD2000JB, a version of the WD2000BB with, you guessed it, 8 megabytes of buffer.
Joining Maxtor in its segregation of product lines, WD also revealed that their standard BB line will have a 1-year warranty starting October 1st.

Comment: Might be a good time to pick up a hard drive before the 1 year warranty kicks in on Oct. 1
After that date, Caviar SE is the one to get since those drives will still have 3 years warranty.
WD says you can buy an extended warranty up to 3 years. So now something is bought that used to be part of the deal.
