Case cooling overkill?
Case cooling overkill?
I'm building a pc for a client and the case can have 5 fans; two in, two out, one on the side above the CPU. Now I know all five is a bit of overkill so, I was planning on only the two exhaust fans and the side fan being used. Does this sound OK? and if so, which way should the side fan (over the CPU) blow, in or out? By the way, this is just a stable type system with no OC'ing.

I have three total. Two for intake and one for exaust. It keeps the noise down and the system is plenty stable (no overclocking either). Technically if you aren't overclocking you should be alright with a single fan on the CPU and maybe another for intake/exaust.

With 2 exhaust on the back, and one on the side you don't need any intake fans on the front, and those are the ones you notice the most noise from anyway.
