Memory setting ?

ok i am messing with my memory settings to make it go faster. a coulple of things i dont see any difference that i tryed.

command rate what does this change? choices are 1t 2t currenly set at 2t

bank interleave i know that in old systems it used to put 0s in one bank and 1's in another. my sys has only one stick yet the interleave can be changed. choices are disabled, 2 bank, 4 bank, currently set at disabled.

i want to set everyting at its fastest setting. im running a soyo dragon 1.4ghz and 256mb ram.
other settings are:
CAS Latency
Precharge to active (trp)
active to precharge (tras)
active to CMD (trcd)
write recharge time
dqs length
any suggestions will be appreciated thanx in advance.

I have a Dragon Plus and below are the memory settings that I have been using. I got them from recommendations at AMDMB forums and they have been very stable for me. I am using 2x256 meg sticks of Crucial PC2100


Dram timing= Manual
Dram Cass Latency=2
Bank Interleave = 4 Bank
Percentage to Active = 2T
Active to Precharge =5T
Active to CMD = 2T
Dram Queue Depth = 4 Level
Dram Command Rate = 2T Command
Write Recovery Time = 2T

These are the most aggressive timings available with the exception of the Dram Command Rate setting but many Dragon owners including me have stability problems with this setting set to the more aggressive 1T setting. The above setting have been very stable for me but of course you mileage may vary depending on your ram.

ok thanks, it works ok with that. my board is the first in the dragon series so it doesnt have
the dram que depth setting. there is about a 20% ram performance gain .

need a little more info about the interleave though. ok i do know that in old systems the interleave required 2 simms. one to hold the 0's and one to hold the 1's and they needed to be the same size. now my computer only has one dimm installed, does it split the dimm into 2 sections(2 bank) or 4 sections (4 Bank) to get the same effect?

Me thinks bank interleave is for sticks with chips on both sides also. If you have a two sided stick, you have two banks. My 512megPC2700 shows in benchmarks as 2x256. I also have bank interleave set on "4".
