Need Anwer Before the CPU gets cooked
Ok, i now fully understand overclocking, and what all the values mean. But, i don't knwo what the vcore should be at with a 142fsb (most recommended to do by people) a 142 fsb would put me up to 1.7GHz, (currently 1.6GHz) So basically, i need to know what to put the vcore at. Thanks.
Thats all up to you. Depending on what kind of cooling you have. I suggest to not go over 1.95v's that is a max unless u have some insane crazy cooling like a lot of us have. If you up the FSB to 142 and it is stable and don't crash i wouldn't mess with the voltage at all. If it runs for an hr then locks up for no reason. Increase the CPU voltage by .25 or 5 depending on the increments your board goes in.Just do that until its stable. Get it stable in 1 spotand try for some more. And if you go to boot and get no bios screen don't panic. Shut the comp down all the Way let is sit for a few seconds. hit the power button and hold down the Insert key this should default the bios and allow it to boot. If that don't work. Clear the CMOS on the baord. Usually a jumper on the mobo somewhere.
