Post by fearfox »

title says it all. I was wondering if any of you know where to get 1.1ghz pentium 3 100mhz bus cpu. Intel made them for awhile and then discontinued them.

Thanks

Intel never made a P3 1.1 Gig that i know of. The y had a 1.13 but it never made it to the market due to a defect it had. They have the new P3 Tualatins might be a 1.1 gig in it but that i don't know for sure.

I just checked NewEgg.com and they have a P3 1.13 and a P3 1.2 for $110 and $119 respectively. Both in stock.

They made a coppermine and tulatin celeron at 11x100, I am running the coppermine one right now. Outpost.com has 2 different 1100 celerons, both retail, one for $60 and the other for $120. They list them both as fcpga2 however, but their pricing seems a little off for the $60 one to be fcpga2.

I think I read somewhere that intel recalled the PIII 1.1/100 but can't find that story right now.
The Intel PIII page shows the PIII 1.0 as highest speed > here

It is kinda strange that their PIII 512kb > here actually lists a PIII 1.1/100 ... but who can tell which one is right?

I'm pretty sure they were recalled and I know that the Coppermine PIII are already fading out, so the PIII 1.0/100 is the fastest you can get.

i saw couple of them for sale on ebay. But not sure if i should go for the buy cause i really hate buying stuff ebay. Couple of fellow ABIT VP6 motherboard users have gotten there hands on some of these processors and they overclock well.

If they overclock well they are a tualatin core then... Most P3 coppermines can barely hit 1.1 stable let alone anything past that.
