Fans and PSU connectors***GOT EM***

Post by ©LINT »

I just bought a new 420 W PSU which has 6 molex connectors. I have 2 for my hdd, 2 for cd-roms and 1 for a Hdd cooler. I just bought 3 new fans and i have no more room. I have looked on KDcomputers for some kinda molex splicer and cant seem to make out exactly what each one does. I have spliced into one of my new fans just to get it running. Anyone have a link to where i can buy or give me the exact name for this type of connector? Thanks.

Got em THANKS

I haven't seen a fan yet that don't have a pass through on them. Just hook the 3 fans togetherand plug into the last one. I've got6 conenctions on mine and 5 fans 2 cd drives and 1 hdd right now. have 2 fans on one 2 on another and the cpu on its own. The 12v line on one moles is more than enough to power every fan in your system so odn't worry about daisy chaining them.

These fans have no pass-through connectors. Just one ways. I found some y-splitters. The fans do have the MB header connectors though but no pass through :(

Thanks

Well they are the 3 pin moles then and no those don't have pass throughs on them. If you've got a 3 pin to 4 pin converter those should have pass throughs....

or you can be ghetto like me

I stripped the leads, inserted the bare leads into appliccable holes on a molex, taped the wires to the molex, and pushed the molex onto my dvd drive...

ill be the first to admit it sounds ghetto but i actually prefer it this way (im a tidy cable freak...)

so basicly you have two J shaped wires going into the molex and taped onto the plastic adapter.
