I think im finally gana dump my last scsi rig.
I cant afford to keep it up to date and most scsi stuff (dvd's, cdrw's, and cd drives) just arnt being produced at high speeds anymore.

IMHO, the only thing that needs to be SCSI is the HDD(s). The other things don't really matter that much as they're seldom used and their speed isn't essential in comparison.
A SCSI HDD system (even the 18g X15) isn't THAT expensive to me for a PC that you use daily. If I was building budget PCs for others, then I'd seek cheaper alternatives.

I'm sure that there's good reasons to own SCSI cd and burner drives but for me at home, I rarely use either. I use a cd-rom drive if and when installing new software (rare these days) and very rarely burn cds either and when I do, the 5-10 minute burn time (now "old" Plex burner) is no big deal to me.
