OK......age check. You don't put your BD year in your profile but if what you posted above is true, you're older than me and I'm having doubts now. Hope you don't mind me asking BUT considering other threads, IMHO it's not seeming likely to me.I also saw Hendrix perform this song twice in 1968, at the "Washington Hilton", in D.C., and the same on-stage gestures and pointing occured. Since seeing these performances live, going back and carefully listening to the original recording, I've always believed that he intentionally slurred his diction on the studio take, to achieve the same effect -- just to "goof" on the audience.

Time for your Annual Checkup!
This is from "Small Business Tip of the Day"
<<I see you cringing as you read this tip's headline.
But I have a slightly different checkup in mind.
Since many of you have inordinate work schedules,
I suspect you don't always take care of the other issues that keep you at a peak performance level. On a regular basis (at least annually), answer these questions:
- Do you schedule regular downtimes for recovery and stress reduction?
- How is your diet? Are your meals haphazard and lacking in proper nutrition?
- Are you active from an exercise perspective?
- How do you recharge your mental batteries? >>
I have a checkup annually.
Hopefully the members of this august body are doing likewise.

......then busted?
As I thought then, you probably weren't even alive in '68. See, us REAL old timers posted our real ages in THIS thread, why not? We're old and proud, not telling stories either. To see Hendrix in '68, you'ld be about 50 now and I have serious doubts about that.

At least some truth now
You just edited that post last night so it then read as a real experience by you before, thus a lie.
Here's another post by you in this particular thread:
No offense implied BUT I'm guessing that you're "about" 18 (maybe?) based on your other threads. Am I close?
Here's another post by you in this particular thread:
Now.....you're STILL not fessing up to your real age here but this was a semi-serious thread until you showed up. I can relate to the above quote that you added as I was in HS in the early 70's BUT I highly doubt that you were.Face facts...
we grew up in a golden age
(No internet was the only reason it wasn't perfecto)
From not having to lock the doors to fantastic music
mind altering substances, great (inexpensive) cars AND gas
No ride programs ie DWI check-points
Sex without dying from the consequences
No offense implied BUT I'm guessing that you're "about" 18 (maybe?) based on your other threads. Am I close?

There's a big difference between a lie

i did see the Doors perform at the Washington Hilton in 66 or 67 i think - outstanding performance in an unusual venue - can't remember if I was still in high school - lol - i do remember that he fell to the floor during "unknown soldier" and the whole audience was on their feet wondering if he had croaked -
at 52, the details get a little fuzzy
Hendrix was playing at an old movie theatre on columbia road at about that time as well -
probably my favorite was seeing Cream twice in 67 or 68 in St. Louis - they really rocked live - you always wondered if Ginger Baker was going to stroke out ..... and of course, the concerts given by the Dead in the late 60's when their "associate" Mr. Owsley was giving out party favors....

I'll try to explain my point here
OK, wvjohn's believable and we old guys know him here and know that he's been around the block a few times but the reason I felt that I needed to say anything (seemingly negative) here was simply because of this particular threads original title: "Over the Hill Gang....sign in here"
