Latest news is that M$ gonna re-write that paragraph in their EULA cause they see it as misunderstood by the people.
This was posted yesterday on the German Heiseticker, I don't have any english sources handy right now.

If anyone ever pays attention when they go to windows update AFter you run the scan any Security update is automaitcally selected you do have the option to unselect them too.... As far as i remember it does that for win98 win2k don't know about me never used it... Its nothing to worry about someone just choose to read more into it than what is there.

Bah! I'm still using Media Player 6.4 thank you very much. It plays everything I care about. I use Winamp for MP3s.

We are Microsoft.... you will be assimilated.... resistance is futile.... :)
