My UltraPlex 32 seemed fine the other day... today it just won't work. I load a new disk and nothing, absolutely nothing happens.. :( It doesn't light up or spin up... just DEAD. the power led is on though...

Yeah. Try to RMA it if still under warranty. If not theres always the "by new one, give back old one" routene.

I never said that it was the best solution morally, but hey it works and Plextor should have to pay for it when there stuff breaks. Just like any other company.

The only products I would say do that to are Smart and Friendly and 3dfx. Not your fault that they went under and refuse to support their products....

don't think it's the motor... the yellow light is on... but when u load a disk the green should come on... meaning he knows he got a disk in and will check it. But it don't... he doesn't do anything except the yellow light :(
And it is eeeh... about 3 years old... so i guess a new one is required.

I had a simillar problem w/my plextor burner. It cost me $100 bucks to repair/$30 to ship, and a month without my drive. In retrospect, I should have just bought a new one...it is only a 4x burner (although SCSI) :)
