I was just notified - I think we should arrange something to rid him of the world forever! There should be something we can pin him down for.

I know of a guy that got caught with some credit card numbers of other people, all his computer equipment was taken away, he was fined $5000 and is not allowed to touch any computers for 10 years - quite nice ! Its coming for you next Puto!

I for one do not want to be labeled as defending this guy. I was around from day one, and I personally know his actions. My only dealing with him was for the Frag Tape. I will never give this guy my money and do not indorse him at all. I just wanted to state that PERSONALLY I have never been ripped off by him.

Quote:
<I>In the days before Heatware we had only our personal experiences by which to judge a trader and the name "Puto" became synonomous with "Bad Trader" His Actions (Nick) are one of the primary reasons that Heatware was started!!!! </i>

Can I suggest that since we all know heatware was created mainly because of his actions that we put him on heatware. There is no reason you could not post a past dealing on heatware. Of course it SHOULD be an actual trade. Just because it happened before Heatware doenst mean it should not be there.

I suggest that ripped off people go back to heatware and leave the evaluations he deserves since he was the "FOUNDER" of heatware in a way ;)

This place is great and having Blade a Chief of Police is wonderful. By no means should a good trader be banished or feel unwanted for dealing with NICK. I dont think anyone meant that...So get your A$$ back in here Wickedmf :)

It was never our intent to drive people away we just want to watch out for the newer traders who may not be aware of the risks of dealing with this guy, I tell you in all honesty I have not slandered him in any way, I may have actually left out some details due to my advanced age and forgetfulness. Just be careful guys, we are trying to watch out for your safety. Red Dawn, blade and myself will never be ripped by this guy and we just want to make sure you don't either and there is really only one way to do that and that is to not deal with him. Wickedmf (Mike) and racerx (Patrick) this is not aimed at you personally so please don't take it that way, you are an integral and important part of this place and irreplacable and puto is definitely not worth losing a couple of class cats like yourselves over.

OK, Since Red mentioned it I'm going to break my NDA and elaborate on the Anandtech situation. Red Dawn was the BEST Moderator anandtech had (and maybe ever will have) and it is (partially) the "Antics" of Mr. Caputo that made him give up that position. Anandtech has not been the same since and thats part of the reason I'm HERE at PCA/AGN!!! Many of us are here for that same reason. Nick's "activities" went FAR beyond ripping people off. He was the most intentionally obnoxious person to ever post in any forum of which I have ever considered myself a member and that dates back to 1978. (Yeah I really am older than dirt) Nicks activities (both past and present) have cast a shadow on the reputation of ALL online traders and I take that personally!!! I Believe that Red Dawn does as well. Honesty and common sense tend to go hand in hand and while common sense can be learned thru maturity ... Honesty is an Instinct .... Born into some and unfortunately not into others. Nick has a recessive gene in that dept. History is all we have on which to base our opinions of each other (in most cases). We are simply relating Nick's History.

Mike (Wicked): Please don't take this like anyone is dissing you personally for trading with Nick. You DO have both Common Sense and that genetic Responsibility/Honesty trait. It's the unsuspecting new traders that we are trying to inform.

Edit: Duckie; I have never dealt with Nick either and the primary reason is thanks to the warnings I recieved from the other members (Red Dawn et al) who warned me not to do so. Again I state my appreciation to those members of our Brotherhood.

He seems to be aware of anything new posted here very quickly. He is still lurking as he probably always will. Here is his latest reply, more lies as usual..

<i>Yes I'm masterchen, so what? I was pleasant, you cannot deny that. Anyhow,
I'm not going to go thru this again. Just ban me, do what you will. My pc has
been entirely downgraded (ask anyone I dealt with) and this time, I truly
mean it, I will NOT be back. Of course, you have reason not to believe me of
course, but at least I know it's the truth."</i>

"this time I truly mean it, I will not be back"

I've only heard that around 8 times. uh huh

*Yawn* more for your entertainment pleasure..

<i>Hey, I AM telling the truth here. Like I said, I lied before so that gives
you reason not to believe. But the proof will be no members pestering you
about me, no aliases from me, and so fourth. The ONLY reason I lurked there
and was selling my stuff off, was to stray AWAY from computers in general. I
started out a console gamer around 11 years ago, and am now back with that. I
totally downgraded my pc to a p2 233 @ 300 and 64 mb of ram, so I could use
the money to purchase a BIG new tv.
Like I said, nothing was meant harmful. Ive now accepted my defeat, and past.
I will never accept being called a theif or con artist, but the line has to
be drawn somewhere, somehow. And I sir, am the one to do so.

Nick</i>

Sounds like that line is being drawn in the sand in the middle of a twister. In other words shifty. I personally have never dealt with the aforementioned but I know that I have read warnings from everyone about him since I first started going into these forums. 1 mistake or small bad deal versus many good ones. Yeah I could see giving him a second chance. Now this ain't baseball and after the second time someone rips someone else off they're out in my book.

You can be p!ssed all you want about that, but you have no one but yourself to blame. You have a real flair for dramatics man, maybe you outta take up acting instead of this ;) ...

what the hell is this a soap opra? Geez guys! Puto has screwed Countless people and then comes back saying I never did that and then says well I did screw people but I have changed and then promptly screwes other people. I have 2 say I wanted 2 give the guy a chance he appeared 2 have changed his ways at one time and sold him a v3 3000pci had him pay first. he got it and then said it didnt work. so I told him 2 send it back 2 me which he Didnt and then told Me 2 buy stuff off of him 2 make up for it. So in my book and mind he was trying 2 cheat me by Not sendign it back because he thought I would buy soemthign else off of him. eithor way he has been a Nightmare 2 countless people al lover the internet not just in bad trades but in his actions and conduct! Go play your NES u putz!

well, personally, I got an average deal, a SoundBlaster Live for $65, but I was glad to get it, and no one else seemed to have one for sale ;) Anyway, like all these bad deals, I just wish it would stop. I do *not* understand how these things happen and people feel justified or feel nothing in their conscience about this kind of behavior. I DO think people can mend their ways, but it takes a lot of working to do it.

I think someone needs to sit down and read Ayn Rand's masterwork "Atlas Shrugged" :) See what honor and integrity in trading with others is all about ;)
