Anyone try the leaked Unreal Tournment 2003 demo?

Post by UberNeuman »

Well now you can... Break out your newsreader download program and head on over to:

alt.chello.binaries

and look for files with "tk-ut3" in them...

I'll post back when I've given the demo a run or two... Yeah, I could wait a few more days for the true demo to come out, but what fun is that? :)

It's looking good - and I can't wait for the real demo and complete version to come out... :) The models aren't finshed and there's some trouble in moving around the levels - going up stairs being one of them - but this game is going to be killer when it hits the shelfs....

There's no given date for the demo - I'd expect in two or three weeks.... Even if this post needs be deleted I understand - but even so - this game is going to be fun to play... Just Great! :)

and if you missed before.... then....

alt.binaries.games.worms

and I expect to hear some more opinions about the demo.... ;)

*edit - just because I can... :)

That's only multiplayer right? I only like single player.

When does Unreal 2 come out? :D Last I heard was Feb this year, another duck4ever maybe.

I'm also more the Soloplayer fan ... last I know is that Unreal 2 got delayed till late summer/fall this year. I don't mind the delay as long as they improve the gaming experience.
I guess I'll download the official UT 2003 demo and if it is only to see if my hardware can run that engine.

I'm also a single player fan - and there's a 'Instant Action' mode of play. I'm not sure if you can rise in tiers like 'UT', but it's much like classic deathmatch...

Hmmmmm, it's sickening to think that we've had Quake2 and Quake3, Unreal and UT, UT2003 and Unreal2 all making it to market before DNF!

:)

I *cough* tried it out a couple days ago. Graphics look good but the bots move super slow compared to UT. I don't think I'll be buying it when it comes out if it isn't as fast playing as UT.

Ok maybe I'm doing something wrong but I can't seem to get inside the game to get weapons and play with bots and such. How do you get into a game with bots? I've tried Instant Action, Co-Op, Single, hosting a Multiplayer game. Can someone please tell me.

Yeah the graphics, environments and effects are all very nice, but the gameplay is still the same. I was never too much of a UT fan anyway, played it here and there, and this one seems MOTS, just another "Quake 3" type game...

Anyone know of a working url for this? I'm not finding anything closely related to UT.

No? OK, if it's a matter of not wanting to post it here then I wouldn't mind a link "accidentally" placed in my private e-mail or something like that ;)
I won't tell, promiss :)

Nope, I must be blind then as I'm not finding anything even close. Guess I wait until the real demo comes out.
