Maxtor NOT supporting Quantum?

Post by FlyingPenguin »

I've got a Quantum hard drive here I want to try to RMA, but Maxtor's changed their site and I can't find ANYTHING about checking warranties or RMAs on Quantum drives there anymore - only Maxtor.

Anyone know what's up?

Can't you just enter the Quantum numbers in their warranty query page? Maybe they decided not to differentiate Maxtor/Quantum anymore.

AFAIK maxtor ditched the Quantum ATA drives, and kept the SCSI drives but put them under the Maxtor name. this page leads me to believe they still support both.

check this one too.

Well okay that worked - thanks for the 2nd link.

But they sure don't make it OBVIOUS. The interface looks like it's setup for Maxtor drives only with no obvious reference to what numbers to use from a Quantum drive.
