Nothing wrong with the card, but the monitor I'm going to use for my LAN party system is kind of dark. I need to crank the gamma up to 1.3 for it to look good in games.
I've set the gamma in the Color Correction tab in Advanced Display Properties and it looks GREAT, but it doesn't stick. Running a game or a reboot will reset it to 1.0 even if I check "Automatically apply these settings at startup".
Only thing that seems to work is PowerStrip (downloaded the 30 day trial) but I'm NOT going to spend $30 just for a gamma adjustment utility (I don't need anything else in PowerStrip). Plus this rig is only going to get used once a month.
Can anyone recommend a freeware app that'll set and maintain the gamma?
And before anyone says it - no, I don't want to crank up the brightness in the games any higher. Q3A looks like crap if you turn up the in-game gamma too high.
Thanks...

Heh, this is a universal problem people are having with the recent nVidia drivers. Only real solution I have found that works is Powerstrip, which you already tried... but 30 day trial? I'm using it, and aside from a 5 second tip/nag screen when you first start it, there's no expiry date or anything...

Actually it's the monitor not the drivers. The image is more than bright enough on any other monitor I have here (and I have several).
But I have a nice 15" Sony Trinitron 15sx monitor that's light and has a VERY sharp image (sharp enough that I can comfortably run it at 1024x768 without a headache even though it's only a 15").
It's perfect for a LAN party.
But it's ALWAYS been a VERY dark monitor.
Well if PowerStrip will continue to manage the gamma with only a nag screen at startup, I can live with that. Thanks.
