Anyone else having problems running Kazaa Lite on a Win2K system?
I can run it fine on my Win98 systems, and even in a Win98 VMWare window on my Win2K box, but it just doesn't work in Win2K.
The Kazaa browser comes up, but it doesn't connect to the network.
Anyone know why?
I'm behind a firewall (WinRoute software router on an NT server with integrated stealth firewall) but the 98 systems all access Kazaa just fine from behind the firewall.

Hmmmm, I have Kazaa lite on 3 Win2K PCs here and the full (regular) version on the kids PC, also Win2K and no probs with it ever.
btw, I realize that I'm not solving your problem but just noting that it's not a "common" Win2K problem, at least here. Of coarse my PCs are using "upgraded" versions of Win2K, not "fresh install" so maybe that's why I'm not having problems with that program here? Just a guess.

Well I have the latest version of Kazaa lite (1.5.1) and it just can't connect. Browser gives me a "Page cannot be displayed error" and can't search or anything.
Now I'm running VMWare on this computer and if I fire up a Win98 VMWare session in Window, that session can run Kazaa Lite just fine. There's no personal firewall on this system.
I'm stumped.

Sorry - typo - I have 1.6.1
No Evil, I haven't gone to their tech support site. Frankly it's not all that important, just moderately annoying. I can always fire up a Win98 session to use it - I don't really d/l that much music.
I don't know if it's a Kazaa issue or an issue with Kazaa Lite.
If TCP/IP is available, it should just work.

I don't DL that much music either as I have many cds but it's good for finding those one hit wonder tunes that you like but know that the rest of the cd is pure garbage (I have a few of those). It's also easier to play saved MP3s vs digging around in the cd collection. The only time I'm ever listening to cds now is in the car and that now has competition with Radio XM (satelite) which is great on long road trips.
