Gentlemen, I'm looking for intormation on Satillite internet connection. DSL and Cable are no where near my area yet, and I'm tired of downloading stuff at ~4-5k/sec. I want to move into the 21st century with a broadband connection, and I would like to look at satillite. Anyone have any info or links, and your thoughts on satillite as an alternative. Thanks,
Charlie

we almost got satellite for our office
it was the system currently being sold by radio shack
i was told it is actually excess/new bandwidth on a business WAN
it is as fast as dsl - the only prblem is the lag because you have the bounce off the sat
a contract it guy who worked for the office had it and said it was basically 512/128 - but that sometimes it wold slow then burst and really wasn't good for first person gamers - the system we were looking at was about $500-1k up from and about $85/mo including isp, etc.

if you plan on play online games, heed this warning... satellite connections have high latency
this means you'll have a pretty crappy time playing your games
