Somthing screwed up with IDE
Theres somthing messed up about this- I Have An AMD duron 1ghz. The hard drive doesnt start spinning when the ide cable is in, when i take it out the hard drive (Sounds Like) its booting. Also CD-rom drives wont open unless i unplug the cable. Can you help me out? Oh and i have a gigabyte motherboard.
You try another ide cable?
Also double check all connections and be sure any hard drives and cdroms/cdrw/dvd drive are all jumpered right and assigned properly in the bios.
I'd hope it's either a bad cable or some jumpers are not set right. Otherwise it could the the motherboard.
