IBM, Hitachi combine hard drive operations

Post by sbp »

Sure hope Hitachi knows what it is getting into. Just the amount of people I've seen that have had problems with IBM hard drives is amazing.

"NEW YORK, April 16 — Technology giant IBM Corp. and Japanese electronics maker Hitachi Ltd. reached an agreement late Tuesday to combine their hard disk businesses into a single company, IBM announced late Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Hitachi is expected to have a 70 percent stake in the joint venture."
