I'm posting here cause I want to have an answer quickcly. Can someone explain witch autoexec.cfg is executed when I load a RA3 trough Gamespy. Is the one in baseq or the one in the Arena folder. If I want to make a change only for RA3 where do I write it. Thanks

A few more details might be helpful. I'm assuming your referring to Quake3 Team Arena. :)

If I'm not mistaken, you can have only one autoexec.cfg file in Quake 3 and you need exact copies in each mod folder for it to work.

I use the autoexec.cfg file to execute settings I want in all Quake 3 games. If you have a mod specific config file, give it a separate name, then add it to the command line for that mod. (i.e. +exec RA3.cfg). This is what I do for the various Quake 3 mods I have installed and it works great. Also, put the mod specific config files in the baseq3 folder also.

But will gamespy execute that command line when launching a rocket arena game if the command line is in the rocket arena shortcut ? So the autoexec.cfg file is always executed by all the different mods. Maybe I could put in the autoexec the settings that I want for all the different mods and bind a key to exec a particular .cfg related the the choosen mod. Damn I have difficulties expressing myself in english (im a french canadian btw) . I would like a confirmation that the autoexec in baseq folder is executed all the times. And what about the auto exec in the mod folder ?

He...he many questions :)

Thanks

I find it easier personally to just name it XXXX.cfg and from the console exec it once I've joined the game...

it may seem like it's more effort but if you have multiple cfgs for different connection tweaks it becomes real useful.

The autoexec.cfg that is run is ALWAYS the one in the mod's folder.

Yes Gamespy can handle command line properties.
