I picked up a Gateway 2150 laptop almost two years ago. I've always been happy with the machine and had a small problem with the charging system, the small plug in was not loose and needed to be repaired. So, I called them up, they sent me an overnight box which I send to Texas where it was quickly repaired on friday and then overnighted back to me and back on my lap. I'm very happy with the computer and love the customer service. I just hope they don't go out of business anytime soon.

I always get an extended warranty on laptops. I normally buy laptops from Best Buy. Just recently they replaced the display panel on an IBM Thinkpad P2-300 and it went back two more times for the same problem. They installed a defective panel. BB repair center had that lappy almost two months. The extended warranty expired before I got it back. It took a few phone calls but they finally "No Lemmoned" it and I got a Compaq 715US as a replacement. Jumped from a P2-300 to an Athlon4 1.2GHz.
