That AX7 rocks!! But..My temp still reads 113F in MM in Windows..

Post by Sean »

I think I know why though. When I was putting in my processor, I accidently hit the temp diode. Then I bent it upward, so I think it may be touching the core. It was moveable. All I know is that the AX7 runs really cool. I am pretty sure it isn't the ASII, as I double checked that, and it seemed pretty good to me.

Otherwise, this AX7 kicks major butt.. I can have my case fans on low on the baybus, and STILL have steady temps... The only thing I don't like the 42.6 CFM Sanyo Denki..makes too much noise... :-\

Is that temp under a load or just idle in windows?

I hope that temp diode is touching the core because 113f at idle sounds pretty warm to me.

What OS are you using cause if its 98 thats not idle... 98 don't have a built in idle service like Win2k or XP does... go find CPUCool or a idling program and run that...

I am running 98 SE.

I touched my heatsink, and it isn't even warm... On the other hand, that could mean there's bad contact between the core and the heatsink.. How could I find out? Dang..

Well, I have a speed thing for my heatsink fan, and when it's at 9.2 v, the temp rises , and when at 12, it lowers... Could that eliminate the bad contact idea?

BTW: I have been running incredibly stable lately. I have had my computer running strong for more than a whole day. I am trying to see how long it can go. :D

To me it sounds like the HSF has good contact with core. I wouldn't worry about it... Almost sounds like its partialy the motherboard and Win98SE thats keeping the temps at 113. my T-Bird 1.33 ran up to 125f. Of course this was loaded and overclocked to 1.6 to.

Ok, than my guess is that I messed with the probe. I remember bumping it, but, now that I think about it, I bet it didn't move at all. Without thinking, I bent it upwards, which probably made it closer to the core than it is supposed to be..

At least I will never overheat it. :D
