I have never got irretated about fan noise. just seems to me to be ambient noise. Don't know if U.S. fans are noiser than our UK fans. when i had my tower case up in the attic 3 floors (U.S) 2floors (U.K). i could hear the noise from the ground floor stairs .fans to me are more important at cooling than making noise. Do many of you get irratated about fan noise ? or ain't u bothered like me?
Just curious
Chris.
btw got mid case : 1 fan intake front. 1 fan intake side pannle 2 fans joind and screw into pci frame covering the vid card. one case fan on the ti 200, one fan blowing out mid way in case & power fan. 2 fans on my heatsink ( 1800xp )
like to hear ppl's comments on noise etc.
cheers
chris.

AMD or Intel wont stop me but the laws of physics might. slowly on the mend.
Most people talk about Delta Black Label Fans, the 7000RPM screamers, when they complain about fan noise.
Few complain about fan noise in general, seeking a really quiet case.
You should listen to the annoying high-pitch sound of a Delta Black Label, there are MP3's of several different fans at http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/tecar.html
It sounds like a hairdryer, nothing I could live with.
I prefer my H2O cooling in my main rig and the Alpha PAL8045 with a rather quiet 39cfm 80mm in my second rig.

Fan noise irritates me when I'm watching a DVD and a silent part comes up... ...then all you hear is fan noise. No wait, you hear my Pioneer DVD-ROM, its louder than anything else in the room!!
I was watching gladiator about a week ago and had to put a pillow over the top of my caes (there is a hole in the top of the case and the CD-ROM so you can see the CD spinning) It was 100x better but was still audible. I really gotta finish moddin' it

It wasn't really an issue until the Athlon 1.4 Gig CPUs hit the scene. Then we needed really good cooling... the first two we tried were audibly noisy. Of course every client said 'this will not do'... they all work in office type environments, so we had to search for something that worked but wasn't noisy. Now that 'new' fan is the standard.
