I'd like one to have equaliser settings, and I'd like to be able to create playlists. I don't like Windows Media player...what do you guys use (and for what reasons)?

Winamp!

Low CPU and mem usage. Equalizer. Playlist editor w/ plenty of options. And a lot of people use it so support is available.

Winamp here as well. Completely turned off by Real Audio and the crap they load into your system which you have to dig out in order to kill. And Microsoft Media stations keep either going under or changing the way they allow you to access their music... Winamp is faster to load the stream than either of the others, rarely breaks, blah blah blah :)
If you hear of something better please let us know? Winamp can't stay great forever.

Winamp. Far better than Media Player.

Winamp's equalizer is pure crap, though. If you have decent speakers, the distortion introduced by Winamp's crappy equalizer is really noticable.

Though I recommend Winamp, as well. Just go get a 3rd part equalizer that doesn't distort the audio.

There are a ton of DSP and effects plug ins at nullsoft.
http://www.winamp.com/plugins/browse.jh ... howMany=20

I just looked them over, and found these clasic EQs:

Though it is not an equalizer, a lot of people seem to dig DFX:

hmm, don't think it's possible to use MMJB equalizer with another player, though someone else may have a way.
