Rice Krispies in my AK35GTR

Post by Lmandrake »

AK35GTR using onboard sound. Snap, crackle, pop when resizing windows and disk access. To simulate pouring milk into your rice krispies, just run HD Tach while streaming radio or playing an mp3.

Bios is December something bios. Cmedia drivers are latest from Cmedia. All sound acceleration is turned to low. Hard drives are on RAID ports but configured as IDE. Via RAID patch has been installed.

Have tried the following:

Latest 4 in 1's
PCI latency patch
Enable/Disable Memory Hole
Enable/Disable PCI Delay transaction.

Will try removing ACPI next.

Would love to hear any other suggestions.

Thanks

BTW- Runing XP2000+ at 1800 and 144 FSB. FSB speed does not impact this phenomenon. Happy with the board otherwise....

Same prob on my parents epox with onboard sound<----ewwwwww!.....

Only way to make it go away is to buy a soundcard.

It's not how you pick your nose, it's where you put the boogers.
