Ok, got an oldler AMD system here with a ALI chipset board. it has an AGP slot, and an AGP card, at boot up there is no video, power gets to the HD, and stuff, but no beeps or anything, the video card is not dead, I think its the Motherbaord, anyone got any ideas?? I cleared the Cmos a few times but still nothing........................

Could also be the cpu, power supply or ram. Only way I know to be sure is to test each in another setup. At least you can narrow it down if it is the mobo. I've had that happen several times. Once it was the cpu and another the video card wasn't seated right so you might try that too. They can be picky.

I know it isnt the powersupply. or video card....... I cant test the CPU in anything else.......... the fan for the CPU goes on, so I know the powersupply is getting power to the Mobo........... I have tried the video card 25 times, and it doesnt work............. so I htikn its the Mobo........

Do you have ANY kind of alternate video card handy? I used to keep a really old ISA card just to test this... now have a few old Diamond cards to do that.
Or it might be AGP itself for some reason. As a possible baseline test you might
try the RAM in each slot: one chip only maybe
Remove the CPU, check the pins ( I've seen a few actually DROP pins: they stand out if you look from the side ) then reseat the CPU and test
try another video card, in another slot
And just because fans move doesn't mean the voltage is what it should be. I can't recall as it's been years, but the fans and HD might spin up if the voltage selector is set to 230v instead of 115v. One of the brand name PC makers had a problem with this 5 years ago, blew out a lot of good MB before they realized what was going on in the field
