What OS are you planning on using? Unless you are running NT or some flavor of Linux, I wouldn't send that much on memory. It really won't serve a purpose on a Win9x/ME system.

And in 2 months that system will be obsolete. ;)

I'd say you should keep that amount of RAM. What OS are you running?
The onboard sound on that motherboard is probably fine for light music listening and general use, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything else. Go for a Santa Cruz, SB Live!, Acoustic Edge, Audigy, or a cheaper card. Anything would be a good upgrade over the onboard.
Also, do you really need that nice case? That's definitely an area where you could save money, but if you really want it, go for it.
Good burners can be had for cheap now, as can DVD drives. If you want either, Lite-On makes two of the best burners, and the fastest DVD drive (though Pioneer makes nice slot-loaders).

I plan to put Slackware/DOS (duel boot) on the computer.

I don't need a burner i've got a burner on this system, i don't use the burner much anyway, its a waste of my $70 for a new 24X10X40.

I need a half a gig of ram becouse i compile halflife maps and things like that. the soundcard i have to hear it before i think of an upgrade.

what case do u recemend for overclocking?!

keep in mind that i have a low buget ($850) so its not like i can get much better then this.

guess if i got a cheaper chassis i could get a 1900 XP

2 months what part of my computer would be obsolite? its all a little outa date anyway.
