if you have experience or particular knowledge of the board you recommend, please also state what?
while your'e at it, might as well tell me what CPU clocks the best and not break my wallet... (my XP1800+ sucked)
I recommend the XP333 ver 2.1 and a 1700+ Mines flyin' at 1.7@1.85v's I'm havin' some hardboot issues only when overclocking past 1650 but after a reset it will post just fine... Not sure whats causing it but if i back it off to 1650 it won't do it... The bioses are kinda flacky from what i've read at amdmb.com forums... The 11/29 that came on my board is the one i'm sticking with cause everything is running really well and i see no need to change anything if its working fine...
I have an AK35GTR for sale for $110 shipped. Just got it yesterday, brand new from newegg. It's got like 4 hours on it running at default speeds. Worked great. Just used it to test a text corruption prob I was having with my XP333R and Radeon 8500. Turns out it's the Iwill causin' the prob and not the Radeon. Weird cause my 7500 works fine. Go figure !
I'm goin' back to my 7500 as the dual monitor is better with that than the 8500 and no funky text.
Vid if you turn the color depth down to 16bit it don't do it... Which sucks cause i was wanting a 8500 Looks like its GF4 4200 for me.. eww the thought of nvidia in my computer is making my stomach turn...lol And i got this 1700+ crankin' at 1.7 stable as a rock tonight i love this mobo... Gonna push the envelope tomorrow see if i can hit 1.75 and 1.8 gig its runnign 1.7 at 1.85v's Not bad for a 1.46 gig chip.
Must not be running WinXP cause it don't know what to do with ata133... Only shows Mode 5 in XP with my Maxtor D740x and XP333... bios shows mode 6 though...
