USB ports on MSI K7T266 Pro2

Post by Piper »

I'm having problems with my USB ports cutting in-and-out on this MB. Of the 6 available ports on this MB, I've only got 4 of them enabled in the BIOS. Anyone know anything about this sort of problem. My system specs are listed below except I'm really running WinME. Also, I'm using an AMD approved 300w PS.

The board runs great except for this intermitent problem. Maybe my new ENERMAX EG465P-VE 431w PS that I've got on order from Newegg will help. I just sucks being in the middle of a firefight when this happens

You might want to check the MSI forum at http://www.amdmb.com if others have the same problem and if they could fix it.

I tend to doubt it's a power supply issue.

See if there's a flash BIOS update.

You sure it isn't one of the USB devices? I've seen a cheapie pair of USB powered speakers, for instance, kill the USB bus.

Turns out my Explorer USB is dying. I tried it with a PS2 adapter and it still cuts in-and-out. I hook-up an old PS2 mouse and all is well. Anyone know off-hand the URL at MS for warranty service?
