I'm down to the following candidates:
Intel Pro/Wireless 2011 LAN PC Card

3Com AirConnect™ 11Mbps Wireless PC Card 2.0 w/ X-Jack Antenna (SO DAMN COOL!)

ORiNOCO 11Mbps Gold Wireless PC Card

Money is not the deciding factor here. I prolly won't need the 128bit key encryption... my home network doesn't use it, neither does the one at school.

now why would i want USB if i can use my exiting PCMCIA?...
i've got the DWL120... not impressed.. all i can say is it works...
i ended up getting the Xjack... we'll see how that goes...
i do hate one thing about 3com though... i have to sign up this tedious form just so i can get their damn updates for software or firmware... total BS having to wait til they approve my request for download which can take up to 2 business days... NOT appreciated especially when i have to shell out a premium for their hardware

GOT THE CARD!!!
it seems that computers4sure.com (who i love dearly) has a warehouse in IL and i got it less than 24hrs after i ordered the card!!!! used ups ground btw...
the card was installed w/o a hitch... works like a charm... at home, i don't even have to have the antenna up... which btw is very cool looking overall... the documentation leaves A LOT to be desired... but i'm satisfied w/ overall performance so far... however, there doesn't seem to be any actual security encryption settings i can choose from... this card is supposed to have a dynamic 128bit encryption for a couple of the 3com gateways... however, it's supposed to have 40bit and 128bit shared key for other WiFi stuffs... i guess they still need to figure out how to do all this in their winXP drivers... still love my card though
