I'm one of the many out there that doesn't see much in oval racing. Sure, it isn't easy, but that doesn't make it interesting to me. I like windy courses and rallying, though I can't watch it for more than 30 minutes at a time. But I don't think that just because something requires you to be athletic qualifies it as interesting. I'd rather type the letter a for three hours straight than watch an oval race. Well, unless there are lots of crashes. Those are interesting.

FP, I think you need a cap that's closer to auto racing than farm equipment IMO. I'd opt for a Ford Motorsports cap myself
A guy at work was at school last week in Schaumberg,IL and was telling us about these Nascar simulators there (apparently also at some other large malls, like Mall of America in MN too) where they actually have several real retired Nascar cars there with large screens setup in all directions and all computer simulated. The cars shake, are loud and he says you really feel like you're driving it. It costs $8.50 for 5 laps and he spent $75 there. He said that during his first race he lost it and rolled the car, and that he had so much sensory overload that he had to close his eyes. There's also a panic switch just in case you can't take it. I'll be staying in that area (a bit south actually in Naperville) in June when the new SUV classes start for 2 days so I'll have to go there and check it out. Don't plan to spent $75 though.

I enjoy some sports but not all. Mainly I watch Hockey (in HD), Soccer, F1 Racing, and some NBA Basketball. I don't really have favorite teams, except perhaps the Patriots (even though I'm not a big football fan), and the Ferrari F1 Team. I don't see the point in Nascar, probably because Formula One is so much more exciting and interesting to follow *and* they don't drive around an oval every single race. I also watch the Olympics, even though that opening ceremony yesterday was rather lame.
Welcome to the machine.
