gf4...

is fricken HUGE! I guess they did barrow something from 3dfx afterall. here is a stolen pic from toms review:

Image

also the fan header on there is an intreasting addition...that is a spare fan header there isnt it? and Im glad to see they are using ram that does not require a heatsink by defult. :)

From the Unreliable benchmarks the cards look pritty impresive. even the MX verson. Once again he doesnt go into visual quality or a few other things people have been asking for and complaning about. It will be nice to see a few more reviews out soon. cant wait.

This card is available as a special pre-order. It will begin shipping on 3/4/2002. Please disregard the "usually ships in 5-7 days" message in the shopping cart for this item.
HAHA, I bet the 129.99 is just a downpayment and they have plenty of time to say it was an error and change the price ;)

I agree, the new Ti cards are huge, truely a manly video card :D
I'm reading the review at nvnews and the performance increase over the Ti500 is, uhm, quite impressive.
ATI, eat your heart out :p ... at least until R300 shows up.

I don't think you really need that card with todays games unless you need very high res with FSAA and high detail. My Ti200 should do fine for the near future.
On the other hand, how long will we have to wait for compelling games that make use of shader features? While Unreal II is right around the corner, the developers realize that high-end graphics cards are still in the minority.
First entry on pricewatch for a Ti4600 is $399 ... ask yourself if bragging rights are worth it :)

EDIT: I know that prices will change since the Ti cards won't ship until sometime in march. The Ti4400 at $299 (other PNY @ pricewatch) should replace the Ti500 while the Ti4600 will be the new "performance king of the hill".

EDIT2 (06:25pm EST): ROFL, the BB price is now at $399, there was prolly a major alarm ringing when they instantly got hundreds of orders per hour :;

I had ordered one threw there yesterday..b4 it was published al lover the net. we shall see. as far as ati eating there hearts out. there card is More then just about speed. they have the Extreamly nice dvd software as well as all the other neat things you dont find on other cards. eithor way this is the way business runs. there is always something the others offer you dont and the other way around. but as for now there really isnt even a need for the 8500 or ti's...but it is cool to have. I thought they should have just made a faster gf3 with that ram and clocked it higher...then had a real bombshell when the gf4 came out later.
