Haha looking in the wrong place here but I'll give it a stab, you use that same hotmail address to try to sign up there?

It's probably BECAUSE of you using Hotmail that Anands won't let you register. Several forums have adopted a policy over the years to not allow anyone registering with one of those "fake" e-mail addresses as MOST trolls use those and it then makes it harder for moderators to track them down if need be.
Although I rarely go there, I've been registered to that forum for many years but I use my real e-mail address too as I have no reason not too.

If you really want to go register there, try your real e-mail address but like the other opinions here, I too prefer a smaller, friendlier place like this one. Anands can be hostile if one's not carefull.
