hm...using the new GF4 MX video card an apple dual 1GZ gets 115 in Q3 Demo 1024/everything

one 800 with a 7500 gets 62

dual 800s with a GF2 MX gets 59

first i've seen of the GF4 Series...........


guess i'll stick with pcs :)

Well, they're still G4's, which have a weak FPU compared with todays AMD/Intel processors. Keep in mind the G4 has been out a *long* time now. Sure its been tweaked, but its still an old processor. Not really Apple's fault. They wanted the G4 to be at this level quite a while ago. Unfortunately Motorola was unable to deliver on their promises. Realations have gotten quite bad between the 2 companies at this point. Rumor has it Apple may dump the PowerPC altogether and has already contact AMD and Intel to develop a chip for them. No.. it won't be x86!! Hopefully the G5 won't be a dissapointment.

Imagine Apple going the Itanium route? I know, probably won't happen, but that would make things interesting for sure.
