I have the worst luck with hard drives :(
My first computer, an old P-150 had a 5gig maxtor in it (which I still have) Had all kinda troubles with it and later found out it had several bad sectors on it. Then, I upgrade that computer and get a brand new 13gig maxtor. Couple months down the road, I start having problems and find out it too has bad sectors. Year or so down the road and I get two nice 15gig 75GXP's and put them in RAID-0. Go to boot up my computer (this was yesterday) and I see my RAID array crashed.

Lost all my music (but luckily I copied it to my friends hard drive so atleast he still has most of my mp3s). Sucks to be me...

Bad luck alright
Had 2 hard drives die in 10 years (not counting 2 in a row IBM's wouldn't even format right from the store) then just after christmas, 2 month old Quantum AS 40gb dies so I put in the other 40gb quantum that was going to be my raid half and it dies slowly over 3 days while my 30gb 4 month old quantum dies a slow death the same time on my other box. File corruptions and eventually not even recognized on boot up.
Luckily I had lots of files backed up on cdr and the 2 spare 20 gbs. Storage is cheap I learned the first time I lost a hard drive so I ghost now.
Down to 2 older 20gb quantums on the two computers and 3 new rma's waiting at home now.
