Intellipoint and IE

Post by marscheese »

ALright, I have the latest drivers (but I did have the older 3.1 drivers installed) for my intellipoint Opticle. the scroll wheel works in windows and games, but for some reason it doesn't work in IE. I've tried various versions of Intellipoint software as well as different versions of IE, no combination neems to work. I remeber a couple months ago (I've had this mouse for about a year) I never had a problem. Now when I move the scrool wheel really fast, the page will move maybe a millimeter, other than that, nothing. ANy one else experienceing this???

thanks ahead of time for your help.

You don't need intellipoint to get wheel scrolling in IE. It's supported by the OS in Win98/ME/2K/XP.

You sure it's enabled in the mouse properties? Make sure it's set to the default which is "Scroll 3 lines at a time".

All else fails try uninstalling Intellipoint and the driver and then re-install.

You can download Intellipoint 4.0 for free off their website, if you haven't got it already.

in the intellipoint software there is an option ( not sure where) it controls how many lines to scroll at each wheel "tic" .it may not be set.

I swear, this is messed up...when I go into the part of the Intellipoint software that asks me how many much I want the page to scroll, if I put the number up (like to 10 lines) it will scroll about 10 times faster than it did before, but still doesn't scroll what it should be. Again, when I go into my C: drive, or where ever, if I scrolled, it WOULD scroll 10 screens at a time...this is very annoying. Maybe the answer lies somewhere in the shot gun I'm currenly staring at....
