On a Windows 2000 system, which would run faster or more smoothly:
1. Having 256Mb running at pc100
or
2. Having 128Mb running at pc133
I appreciate all opinions!!

I actually have two 64Mb dimms at pc100 and one 128Mb dimm at pc133. I took both your suggestions and am running 256Mb at pc100. Thank you both for your imput. Very profound insight on the matter too, Dad!! LOL!!

To further add some insite, the speed your RAM runs at is determined my your FSB speed. Even if you have some futuristic PC900Mhz RAM it will only run at the same speed as what your CPU's FSB speed is. In other words, the PC rating is simply how fast you ram CAN run, not WILL run.. So for example, if you're running a PIII 900 E cpu, then you will only need PC100 ram cause the fsb of that particular cpu is 100Mhz, so your ram won't run faster than that, even if it is PC133! (unless you overclock, but that another story)
