I don't know exactly how many people this applies to, but I thought I'd post this, just in case.
I recently upgraded the RAM in the system noted in my sig. I traded my gig of mixed DDR333 for a gig of matched Kingston Value RAM KVR400X64C3A, some kickass RAM. Anyway, I checked in the BIOS, out of curiosity, and it was set to automatically find the speed of the RAM. Even with the new RAM, it was still reading DDR333. I tried manually setting it to DDR400 speed, and the system wouldn't post. A quick clear of the CMOS, and the RAM was being read as DDR400, and stable as ever.
Note: When upgrading RAM to higher speed, may need to fiddle with BIOS settings. :bang
