I'm putting together a dual Xeon setup and the board has no AGP. I'm looking to trade my AIW Radeon AGP for a PCI model unless there is a better card for DV capture/editing.
MSI Dual PII/PIII Xeon w/U2W scsi on board & RAID port.
Any advice wil be appreciated I'm new to the DV thing.

Thanks :D

Make sure you get a card that will work with your OS since not all capture cards are created equal in the NT realm. :)

You might want to look at something like a Dazzle. The good ones are USB externals and capture extremely well.
On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

Would that mean the AIW is superfluous, or is it a useful card for video work? I usually build boxes for graphics work so this is a new area for me. Thanks -

One place I know of to get decent info is http://www.matroxusers.com. They have a forum that isn't exclusively Matrox for capturing.

Personally, I find it odd that someone made a Xeon board without AGP...

Actually the one I got has AGP slot, but no raid port so a decent trade off.
