I am trying to get my Plextor 40/10/16 to run on WIN 2K. (KT7A RAID 1Ghz TBird, RAID 0 Utlra DMA) someone told me to delete my aspi layers and I did. Now I still can't use the drive to burn. Yes I am using Adaptec Direct CD and EZ CD. Is there anyone that can help me reinstall ASPI layers?

When I went to Adaptec site all I could find was ASPI32.exe upgrade and Adaptec says not to use these files with win 2K.

Is there any help out there?

Thanks you

The problem I have is that I deleted all of my aspi files. Is this download going to load the aspi files I need? How can you Force aspi if there is no aspi yo force?
Thanks

Just do it. This program will bypass the ASPI layer check in the utilities from Adaptec and install them anyways. Trust us, we know what we are doing.

Also make sure that you install the via 4.29s, I never could get my burner working in win2k before the release of the 4.28s. :)

I am using the Via Drivers that came with my KT7A RAID. According to my hardware manager they are version 5.0.2195.0.. I finally got an aspi layer loaded after trying eight different downloads. Thanks for everyones help. I still cannot use Direct CD but I am hoping that Plextor tech support will have an answer.

Has anyone else had this problem with the Plextor. What about the Yamaha because I am thinking of RMAing this POS back to Colorado.
