I bought 2 sticks of ram that are 8gigs each for a total of 16. I noticed when the pc boots, it only recognizes 8 total. When I bought the ram, I thought it was 8 total, but the sticker from Mushkin indicates 8gigs on each stick. Will this be an issue? The board is an ASUS P8P67 that handles 32 gig max. I bought the ram because it was cheap: $50.

If you pull a stick out, how much does it say you have? If it says 4, then the label must be referring to the kit. Also make sure the ram is in the correct slots for dual channel mode.

You SURE they are 8Gb each? Might be labelled as an "8 Gb kit" which means 2x4Gb. As suggested, pull one stick and see how much is detected. Some mobos can't see more than 8Gb.

Yeah it's labeled as an 8 gb kit LOL. Learn something new. Haven't built a pc since 2007, so this one was a treat to build. It's up and running with all the updates installed.
