Android 4.3 will restore performance of laggy old Nexus 7

Post by FlyingPenguin »

My update came in this morning and I must say then, subjectively, my Nexus 7 feels much snappier now - especially in the browser.

How well does that work for you anyways? What do you find to be your greatest use of it? I've considered getting a hold of a tablet. I just cannot justify an iPad, either price or its lack of support for memory cards.

For less than the cost of one iPad, I bought 2 Nexus 7s and I love them.

I keep one in the car and tend to use it for browsing at hotspot locations (instead of the laptop I also have in the car), or Kindle book reading.

I keep the other at home and usually use it for reading news on FlipBoard in the morning over a cup of coffee, and it's replaced my paper white Kindle. I have a couple of games, but I dont game much on it. Some Plants vs Zombies on occasion.

Ya, there are some cool games. Hard to do much in the way of games really. I found a fun one based on the Army of Darkness movie, GTA III is available as well as I think some Square-Enix games. Even managed to hook up a Ps3 controller to it and use it to play NES games just for fun. The one I like to casually play is called Dice With Buddies. Basically a game similar to Yahtzee. but you can play with a bunch of random people and Facebook friends I think as well.

Amazing what you can do with Android devices these days, even starting to see various speakers made for them now too.
