This is driving me nuts as I can't figure out what might be wrong.
I have here at home 3 PC's running Win7. One is running Ultimate and the other 2 are Home Premium. 1 PC is running XP pro.
On my wife's laptop running Win7, I added a HP printer to a different win7 machine. When browsing for the printer, it never finds it. It will only find the 2 printers on my xp machine.
I get this error message:
\\Charley-pc is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource.
Login failure: the user has not been granted the requested login type at this computer.
The printer is properly shared so I'm not sure what is going on. Anyone have any ideas?

Win7 is locked down by default on most OEM system. ON all the Win7 PCs go to the Network and Sharing Center in the Control panel and then go to Advanced Sharing Settings. Under "Home or Work Network" (which I assume is what you selected when you connected to the network) turn on network discovery, turn on file and printer sharing, Turn off password protected sharing (this is probably your problem), and under Home Group select Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers (some of these settings may only appear in Win7 Pro).
Don't rely on Windows to just find the printers. You may need to browse the Netbios address of the PC hosting the printer by bringing up the Run dialog box (Windows Key + R) and type : \\CHARLEY-PC.
Also make sure you don't have a 3rd party firewall running. McAfee, TrendMicro and Norton security suites block printer and file sharing by default.
