Refurbished hardware from Dell Finanical Services

Post by FlyingPenguin »

http://www.dfsdirectsales.com

I was searching for a 2nd Dell 2208WFP display. Right now I'm using one 2208WFP along with a 22" Acer. The Acer is not a bad match, but I'd like to have two identical displays.

The Dell is a gorgeous display with a built in USB hub. However they don't make it anymore. Amazon didn't have any except used and from dubious sellers.

When I went to Ebay I found some being auctioned by Dell Financial Services, so out of curiosity I went to their website (I never do auctions). They're the corporate leasing arm of Dell, and they sell factory refurbished hardware to the public.

Saw some nice prices on their Precision workstations without an OS installed. Those Precision workstations are nice PCs. Some of the prices on the high end XPS laptops w/o OS were also interesting.

I ordered a display from them for $150. I'll let you know how it looks when it comes in.

great find! thanks for sharing. Let me know how you make out as my FPW2405 is dying slowly and would love to replace it with another FPW2408 to match my other one.

I'll be in the market for a couple 22" monitors pretty soon, so yeah, keep me updated.

Monitor arrived promptly via Fed Ex. It was not shipped in it's original box, but it was very well packed with the display shrink wrapped to a cardboard divider to protect the display.

The monitor looks pristine, and no dead pixels as far as I can tell. Amazingly it also matched my other monitor perfectly when I adjusted the brightness and contrast to the same settings as the other monitor. I've never had two monitors of the same model match before.

Overall I'd give them 5 stars.

I was very fortunate in taking a chance on a pair of Rosewill monitors some years back when they were fairly unknown. Both match well & one has a pixel that is stuck on green in a far corner which I never notice. But I love them because they match very well. I would go insane if mine didn't match. So that's good to hear.
