B&N Nook

Anyone seen the reviews on this? My wife is wanting a Kindle for Christmas but the Nook is looking more promising. What do you think?

You'll have problems finding reviews yet - it's not out yet. It's due to start shipping in "late November" but that could slip.

I'm loving the Kindle. There are little things. The charger for instance is TINY, sleek and elegant. It makes iPod chargers look bulky by comparison.

I thought about waiting for the Nook but Amazon has a really mature device already, and I am already used to buying regular books from Amazon. I also like that I can read any book that's on my Kindle account from my laptop of an iPhone/iTouch, and that it syncs to the last page read on any device. I sometimes read on the laptop during lunch breaks. I don't take the Kindle out of the house right now - too easy to lose or damage, and the laptop is always in the car anyway. Nice to know that if my Kindle is down for replacement or is lost or whatever, I can continue reading my book on something else.
